Katarzyna Leś
A first class laboratory medicine specialist with many years of experience in the profession. Her contribution to our laboratory is invaluable not only for her extensive knowledge and skills but also her serious attitude to work, about which she is very passionate.
Katarzyna Leś has been working at the Medical Analytics Laboratory ANNA-LAB since 2008, and since 2010 she has also been working at the Department and Faculty of Medical Microbiology of the Medical University of Warsaw. She completed her studies in Medical Analytics at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Warsaw. She also wrote and contributed to several research publications. Her master’s thesis called “The Development of Detection of Human Enteroviruses Using the Chain Reaction Polymerisation Technique in Real-Time” deserves special mention.
Her research interests include:
- Diagnostics of infectious diseases using molecular biology techniques;
- Laboratory diagnostics of infections caused by Epstein-Barr virus in outpatients with malignancies and patients after bone marrow-transplant (BMT);
- Pre-analytical issues, including the impact of dietary supplements and herbs on tests;
- Diagnostics difficulties in determining the parameters in a medical diagnostics laboratory.
